French Woods offers performing art summer camp programs in music, dance, theater, circus, magic, film and rock music, as well as the visual arts, sports, tennis, fitness, waterfront, skate board, and horseback riding. We cater to children from 7-17 years old. Younger campers receive more guidance and supervision, while older campers are able to take on some responsibility and have a chance to work in the areas of their interest.
French Woods has one of the most ambitious theater schedules in camping, producing more than 80 full-scale productions every summer. Musicals are supported by our music program, which provides small combos and full orchestras, as well as having a full performance schedule of their own for band, jazz, orchestra and symphony performances. Our Circus program is the largest in the world, with a custom twelve thousand square foot covered pavilion featuring every sort of circus apparatus.
Best of all, each camper can take part in any or all of our activites, based on what they choose to do.
French Woods is located on a private lake in the western Catskill Mountains of New York State near the Delaware River on the Pennsylvania Border. The camp is approximately two and a half hours from New York City, between Monticello and Binghamton.
