Located at the base of Saddle Mountain, Timber Lake Camp (“TLC”) is a premier, traditional, co-ed sleepaway camp in the Catskill Mountains. Just 2.5 hours from NYC, TLC features two private, spring-fed lakes and a wide array of facilities set on beautifully maintained grounds across 500 acres.

At TLC, our mission is to create a warm, safe, and fun environment where campers can make friends, build self-esteem, self-confidence and resilience. Our STARFISH Values Program not only supports this mission; it creates the atmosphere that makes it possible. In addition to teaching these values on the fields and in the bunks, every Saturday night, we hold a STARFISH Ceremony that includes a camp story, followed by 16 campers earning a STARFISH honor. What makes these awards so special . . . the nominations come from the campers themselves!

Each summer, our campers enjoy a diverse range of activities designed to cater to their interests and talents, including athletics, waterfront adventures, creative arts, and technology. We take pride in our top-quality instruction, experienced staff, and state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring that campers receive the highest level of engagement and skill development in a supportive and nurturing environment.

In addition to the daily program, we have weekly special events and evening activities, from incredible theater productions, lively DJ events, carnivals, spirit days, college-style tournament days where campers show off their TLC Tiger Pride as we host camps from across the Northeast – and of course, our end-of-summer, camp-wide Marathon competition – just to name a few! One of the most cherished moments each week is singing our camp alma mater, arm in arm, in our beloved Playhouse. The spirit, love and tradition in these experiences create the excitement and fun that brings everyone together and fosters memories that last a lifetime.

TLC has been family-owned for over four decades, led by owners and directors Jay and Mindy Jacobs. Former TLC campers themselves, Jay and Mindy met and fell in love at Saddle Mountain and have dedicated their lives to TLC and its campers and staff. Nationally recognized leaders in the camping industry, they advocate for the camp experience for ALL children and are lifelong supporters of both SCOPE and Project Morry.

They and their team of dedicated year-round and seasonal staff work tirelessly to foster a camp community that welcomes each and every camper and staff member with open arms and create a vibrant culture where everyone can be themselves, explore their passions and make lifelong friendships.

That is what camp was always meant to be – and that’s what we’ve been doing successfully for over 40 years!
